A progressive treatment supported by Revision Skincare
D·E·J BioStim™ is designed as a progressive course of three treatments, spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Each session can build in intensity, with up to three layers at your first treatment, four at your second and five at your third, depending on how your skin responds.
In clinic, the protocol is supported by Revision Skincare’s professional range, including products such as Gentle Foaming Cleanser, Papaya Enzyme Cleanser, D·E·J Daily Boosting Serum®, CMT Post-Procedure Cream® and Intellishade® TruPhysical. These are used at different stages to prepare, treat, calm and protect the skin.
For homecare, Revision recommends a focused routine built around Gentle Cleansing Lotion, D·E·J Daily Boosting Serum®, D·E·J Face Cream® and CMT Post-Procedure Cream®, helping support the skin before and after treatment and maintain results between appointments. How many treatments do I need?
The recommended initial programme is three treatments spaced approximately two to four weeks apart.
The treatment intensity can be progressively increased through the course according to your skin response.
Following your initial programme, maintenance treatments may be recommended around every four months.
What is a topical biostimulator?
A biostimulator is designed to encourage processes within the skin associated with structural support, including collagen and elastin production.
D·E·J BioStim™ is unusual because it is applied topically rather than injected.
Its dual-action formulation combines a multi-acid resurfacing system with antioxidant phytoacids designed to support the dermal matrix, giving us a way to target both surface renewal and longer-term skin quality within one treatment.
What does D.E.J mean?
D·E·J stands for dermal-epidermal junction. This is the interface between the epidermis and dermis and plays an important role in how the upper and deeper layers of the skin interact and support one another.
Revision developed the BioStim technology specifically around improving the structural environment associated with this area of the skin.
Is D.E.J BioStim™ a chemical peel?
It shares some characteristics with a professional peel, but it has been designed to do more than simply resurface the skin.
The treatment contains a blend of glycolic, lactic, salicylic, mandelic and citric acids, which help accelerate surface renewal and support penetration of the BioStim technology.
At the same time, the antioxidant phytoacid complex is designed to support collagen, elastin and the wider dermal matrix.
This is why Revision describes the treatment as a topical biostimulator with a resurfacing delivery system.
Will my skin peel?
Not necessarily. Most clients experience little or no visible peeling. Temporary redness, dryness, tightness or mild itching can occur following treatment.
If flaking or peeling does develop, it usually begins around day three and resolves by approximately day seven.
The amount of peeling is not an indication of how successful the treatment has been.
What does the treatment feel like?
You may experience mild to moderate warmth, tingling, stinging or itching while the treatment solution is applied.
Your therapist will monitor your skin closely between each layer and adapt or stop application according to your skin response and comfort.
Is D·E·J BioStim™ suitable for all skin tones?
Revision has developed the protocol for Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI.
However, darker skin tones can have a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation following inflammatory or resurfacing treatments, so strict adherence to pre- and post-treatment guidance is particularly important.
Your therapist will assess your skin individually and adapt treatment accordingly.
